Stamford Old Town Hall

Westchester County Courthouse

County Jail

The project consisted of the conversion of an abandoned, 110,000 sq. ft, High School, originally constructed in 1912.  The space program for the City courts included six large courtrooms, judges' chambers, administrative sections for court personnel and a 48-hour detention facility to accommodate fifty prisoners.

The building also houses the City Police Headquarters with sophisticated communications center and forensic laboratory. The project included a complete gut rehabilitation of the existing building including new HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.  New additions were incorporated into the existing building to provide a 3 story entrance atrium and a secure prisoner sally port. A new lead coated copper roof was installed on the old building and a new flat roof on the addition. This project was the first judicial project for DASNY and was featured in one of DASNY's Yearly Reports.
