Scofieldtown Middle Magnet School

The City of Stamford purchased from the University of Connecticut a property in the northern section of Stamford of 37 acres and two, two-story buildings. The goal of this project was to convert this property and separate buildings into a new High School but was later converted to a Middle School. To accomplish this, two additions were added to the existing buildings to connect the two buildings into one school structure. The entire exterior facade was redesigned and replaced new.  New windows were installed in the existing buildings.  The educational program for the building contains six cooperative groups, grades 6, 7 and 8 housing 660 students. The additions consist of new classrooms, gymnasium and auditorium. The project also included athletic fields, parking areas, separate drop-off circles and site work.
